These terms govern your use of Kyuhachi (“the app”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

The service

Kyuhachi is an independent, fan-made iOS app for tracking your progress in the 九州八十八湯 (Kyushu 88 Hot Springs) challenge. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the official 九州八十八湯 organisation or 88onsen.com.

Onsen information shown in the app is sourced from 88onsen.com and is provided “as is”. It may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Always confirm opening hours, prices, and access details with the onsen before you travel.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

Acceptable use

You may use the app for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the app — for example by attempting to disrupt it, access other users’ data, or reverse-engineer it except where permitted by law.

Your content

You keep all rights to the photos, notes, and other content you add. You grant us a limited licence to store and display that content back to you so the app can function.

Safety

Visiting onsens and travelling in Kyushu is at your own risk. Follow local rules, signage, and onsen etiquette. We are not responsible for your safety or for anything that happens during your visits.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

Changes

We may change the app or these terms over time. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
